Fake support agent
Someone claims to be official 'support' for your bank, a platform, or a big tech brand.
Why it matters
A trusted brand name lowers your guard, letting the 'agent' extract codes, payments, or device access.
Example only - do not act on it
Example only: This is [brand] support - verify your account so we can help.
Why scammers use this
Impersonating support borrows credibility the scammer hasn't earned.
What to do
- Never install remote-access software for an unsolicited 'support' or 'refund' call.
- If you installed it, disconnect, uninstall, and scan from a clean device.
- Change key passwords from a separate trusted device and call your bank.
What not to do
- Don't give remote control to anyone who contacted you.
- Don't follow on-screen steps from an unsolicited 'technician'.
- Don't log into banking while someone can see your screen.
How to verify safely
Real support never cold-calls or uses popups and never needs remote access; contact a company only through its official app or website.

How do I reach real support?
Only through the official app or website you navigate to yourself - never a number or link from a message or popup.
