Scam Message Checker

Privacy policy

Last updated: 2026-06-11

The message you paste

The suspicious message you paste is analysed entirely in your browser using built-in rules. By default it is not stored and not sent to any server. Sensitive details (such as emails, phone numbers, card numbers, bank details, and one-time passcodes) are automatically masked before analysis.

Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages and features are useful. Analytics never receives your message text, links with personal tokens, phone numbers, email addresses, names, codes, or financial details. We only record general, non-identifying information such as which page was viewed, the selected platform type and country, the resulting risk level, and a message-length range (for example, “51–150 characters”).

Cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager (GTM) for privacy-safe, aggregate usage analytics. These never receive your message text, links with personal tokens, phone numbers, email addresses, names, codes, or financial details. The Family share feature only sends a generic safety reminder and never includes your pasted message. The printable checklist and printed results never include your pasted message content.

For your own safety, do not paste one-time passcodes (OTPs), passwords, full card numbers, complete bank account details, national IDs, or other highly sensitive information. Some sensitive-looking details may be masked automatically, but you should avoid entering them in the first place.

See our cookie policy for details on any cookies used by analytics.

The site may use essential cookies and local storage for basic preferences. Optional analytics may be used through GTM/GA4, and pasted messages are never sent to analytics. You can change your cookie choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer.

No accounts

There are no user accounts or logins. We do not ask for or collect your personal information to use the checker. The optional email newsletter described below is separate from the checker and is never required to use the tool.

Email subscriptions

If you subscribe to scam safety updates, we collect your email address, optional name, consent status, signup page, and signup time. We use this information only to send scam safety updates and related educational content.

The subscription form is separate from the scam message checker. Do not submit passwords, OTPs, card numbers, banking credentials, private keys, seed phrases, or sensitive documents through the subscription form.

You can request removal from the mailing list at any time by contacting support@scammessagechecker.com. We do not yet provide an automated one-click unsubscribe link, so removal requests are handled manually by email.

Third-party links

Reporting links point to official third-party websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
